Project: Detection of high-order correlations in health data

Description

Correlations are instrumental for our understanding on complex systems. For example, after years of studying scientists know that smoking is correlated to cancer. There are however some more nuanced correlations, which are more difficult to detect. These are called ‘deep correlations’ or ‘high-order correlations’. In this thesis you will be working with GGD, and you will help them extract this type of correlations from their data, such that they understand their data better.

To successfully complete this thesis you need to: (a) know python *and* java programming, (b) be able to read scientific papers, in order to understand high-order correlations.
