course: 2AMD20

The rising importance of data in organizations over the last two decades is undeniable. Organizations across all sectors (public/private, academia/industry) are increasingly undergoing deep transformation and restructuring towards data-driven operations. A key aspect of data analytics and data intelligence is building bridges between the context of the analysis and the data, through the elicitation and modeling of domain knowledge. Those organizations which identify the vital importance of knowledge engineering for meaningful, explainable, reproducible, trustworthy, and maintainable data will be at the forefront of data-driven intelligence solutions. This course prepares students in the foundations and practice of contemporary knowledge engineering methods and technologies, which are at the heart of advanced data-intelligence solutions for making value from data.
